While I had taken a several year break from mobile game development, I decided to make some minor changes and upload a new version of Play the Field to the app store.
Changes include:
- Additional screenshots for larger devices, tweaks to the description text
- Minor changes to the UI, including component location and color. This was mostly to allow the game to look a little better on bigger devices, like iPad Pro
- Updated copyright notice
- Added Privacy URL (as per Apple’s guidelines)
- Added flag to require full screen mode (this was required for iPad multitasking mode)
- Some testing on newer devices (iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max, Xr)
After having gone through this exercise I am a little more confident now about making more changes to the game, including gameplay and stage changes.
While I’ve seen a lot of new games available on mobile devices in the last few years, I still haven’t see anything quite like the minimal RTS that Play the Field offers.
